First things first, who are you and how do you help small businesses?

I’m a graphic designer with over 30 years experience. I’ve helped numerous small businesses get their identity created from the outset, by having a strong identity it helps tell their audience that they are taking things seriously. So I get them off to a good start by designing their logo, corporate stationary and any brochures or leaflets they need and I get the print delivered to them.
What made you become a member of Start-Talk-Grow?
Having worked in the Lincolnshire area for most of my career I liked the idea of giving something back. Every start-up needs as much help as possible and if I had the offer when I first started I’d have loved the idea of advice from someone who’s been there and done it.
What inspired you to start your business?
Whilst at Art College it was always my ambition to have my own studio, when my wife was 6 months pregnant I took the plunge, probably not the best time, but I really don’t think there ever is a good time.
What makes you different from others in your field?
I genuinely want my clients to succeed and do well, too many designers see their clients as numbers and don’t give the personal, caring service that I offer.
What are the greatest achievements you’ve had in your business?
Repeat business and happy clients are the best achievements. I’ve had work viewed in high-profile places, but that’s a vain view. A happy client is always the reward I’m looking for.
What did you wish you knew when you started that you have learned along the way?
That offering great service, will result in repeat work. I was always worried that clients wouldn’t come back, I’ve had some clients for over 20 years.
